Maya: Character Animation

This intermediate-level Maya course focuses on the ins and outs of setting up a character for animation in Maya. Some topics to be tackled include Joints, Inverse Kinematics, Constraints, creating controllers, Set Driven Keys, Skinning and painting weights.

Also included is Maya's non-linear animation editor, the Trax Editor.

Who should attend

This course is for anyone with Maya experience who would like to learn how to animate a character, as well as those who want to improve their character rigging and animation skills.

Prerequisites

To benefit from this course, participants should have completed PCCI's Maya: Foundation course or have equivalent experience.

Presentation method

Class time will be divided between instructor-led presentations and hands-on exercises. Classes will be limited to five students, with an individual computer workstation and Wacom graphics tablet for each student to use during the course.
